Biochemistry is the most fascinating subject as it deals with the chemical language of Life, be it human, animal, plant or microorganism. Biochemistry is one of the most upcoming and highly demanding subject in the Indian as well as the foreign universities. The basic foundation in Biochemistry is a necessary prerequisite for any kind of biotechnological, medical, paramedical and biological research activity. Biochemistry is offered at T.Y.B.Sc. (3 units) presently in combination with Chemistry & Microbiology.

Curriculum

Third Year (Semester- V)

This course is intended to provide students with a basic understanding of the chemical nature and properties of biomolecules.

To acquaint the students with knowledge of metabolism of carbohydrates and proteins ad to develop knowledge of the nutritional significance of macro and micronutrients and Bioenergetics.

 

Third Year (Semester- VI)

The course aims to introduce the students about the basics of Lipid metabolism and immunology.

This course is intended to provide students with the understanding of physical properties, structural and functional aspects of genetic material, Genetics and r-DNA technology and Endocrinology and acquaint the students with the basic knowledge of developmental Biology.
